Makenzie Smith is a registered cardiovascular sonographer with years of experience in echocardiograms and diagnostic vascular studies. She grew up in Douglas, Georgia and graduated from Coffee High School as a honor graduate in 2013. Shortly after, she attended Darton State College where she obtained her cardiovascular technology degree. She graduated top of her class with summa cum laude in 2016. Her cardiac and vascular clinical experience was obtained at John D. Archbold Memorial hospital and Tift Regional Medical Center. Immediately after completing her clinical rotations she became an employee of Tift Regional Medical Center where she performed echocardiograms and vascular studies until 2018. In 2018, she then became a part of Douglas Vascular Center where she now specializes in the following vascular studies: peripheral arterial, peripheral venous reflux/DVT, carotid duplex, Hemodialysis Access Evaluation and aorta/iliac artery and vein scans. She takes pride in what she does and loves being able to contribute to patient care. Makenzie critiques her scans each and every day to help with diagnosing a patient. Her role at Douglas Vascular Center is to provide images showing where the disease may be and to what severity. She is a very outgoing person and looks forward to meeting new patients. Aside from working, Makenzie enjoys spending her free time with her daughter.
